Admission to the School (Grades K-8) |
|
Students are assigned to instructional groups primarily on the basis of age. The school cut-off date is September 1 and students who are five years old by September 1 of the school year they are applying for will be admitted into the Vorschule program. Similarly, students who are six will be admitted to Grade 1. However, factors such as previous records, measured aptitude and achievement, physical and emotional development and other relevant details are also considered. The final decision rests with the Head of School.
Enrolling your children at the German-American International School involves several steps. After you have reviewed our information, had a school tour, talked to teachers and maybe current parents, you should have a very detailed impression of the benefits our school offers to your child. When you have made your decision to enroll you child at our school and have established the appropriate grade level of admission, you will fill out the application form and send it to the school with a $50 application fee. School records will be required for students applying to Grade 2 and higher. The school will inform you of the status of your application in writing. Once you have been notified of acceptance, you will then fill out the enrollment contract, pay the $500 annual fee and tuition deposit. At this point your child has a confirmed place in the school. Before attending school a series of forms and health records will need to be submitted to the school office.
Please print out the application form, fill it out and fax it to our office at +1-650-324-9548.
