A survey is a good tool to get a measure of what our students think about their school. To this end a student survey was conducted last week at school with all students in Grades 1-8 participating.
The goal of the survey was to get opinions from students on school culture, class environment, interaction with teachers, etc. The results will also help the administration measure the progress with this year's school-wide culture of respect program.
In the survey we presented certain statements to which the students responded using a scale where 1 = never, 2= seldom, 3 = sometimes, 4 = mostly, 5 = always. The students were clearly instructed to give honest and serious responses and that no response given was incorrect. The survey was given in both German and English and the results are shown in the following table. This was a very simple but useful way to see what our students think about certain aspects of their school.
