German Elemenatry Level Classroom Teacher

Duties
Elementary class teachers are responsible for teaching the Core Subjects: Reading, Language Arts, Spelling, Mathematics, Art, Social Studies and Science in German. Experience in teaching Music or Physical Education would be an advantage. The school follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) and teachers who do not have experience in this program will be given adequate training and supervision. In addition to classroom instruction, teachers are expected to participate in supervision duties, staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops and various activities that promote the schools programs and reputation. The school operates from 8:20 to 15:00, Monday to Friday.

Requirements
Teachers must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, or equivalent teaching qualifications from their country of origin, and at least two years experience teaching in a German language Elementary School level classroom setting. Our school is looking for committed, motivated and enthusiastic Teachers with excellent organizational and team-work skills, dynamism and energy, as well as the ability to see children as individuals.

Contract Information
The contract is for one year and is renewable on a yearly basis by mutual agreement. The salary rage for full time teachers is from $39,000 to 69,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Middle School Science and IT Teacher
Duties
Responsible for teaching the subjects of Science in the Middle School and Information Technology in Grades 1-5. The school follows a Science program that includes General Science in Grade 6, and Biology, Physics and Chemistry in Grades 7 & 8. The IT program is designed to support instruction and meet the unique needs of our students. In addition to classroom instruction, the teacher will be expected to participate in supervision duties, staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops and various activities that promote the schools programs and reputation. The school operates from 8:20 to 15:00, Monday to Friday.

Requirements
Teachers must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, or equivalent teaching qualifications from their country of origin, and at least two years experience teaching Science at the Middle School level. Experience in teaching IT, or a proficiency in this area, is also required. Our school is looking for committed, motivated and enthusiastic Teachers with excellent organizational and team-work skills, dynamism and energy, as well as the ability to see children as individuals.

Spanish Teacher (Grades 5 - 8) / Part-time (50%)
Duties
Spanish is taught as a foreign language together with French. This position involves teaching Spanish to students in Grades 5-8 with each class having three lessons per week. The teaching load is 12 lessons per week divided over three afternoons. Class size is small with no more than 10 students per section. Some differentiation may be required for students that transition into the school from other schools and countries.  In addition to classroom instruction, the teacher will be expected to participate in supervision duties, staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops and various activities that promote the schools programs and reputation.

Requirements
Teachers must have appropriate training and credentials for the position. This would ideally be a degree in education with an emphasis in Spanish or a degree from a Spanish language University and practical experience in language instruction. Preschool Assistant (Part-time)
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, fluent German-speaking Preschool Assistant for our German language Preschool Program.

Preschool Teacher

Duties
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, fluent German-speaking Preschool Teacher to join the growing team of our play-based, developmental German-immersion preschool. The school follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) and teachers who do not have experience in this program will be given adequate training and supervision. In addition to classroom instruction, teachers are expected to participate in supervision duties, staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops and various activities that promote the schools programs and reputation. The school operates from 8:15 to 14:00, Monday to Friday.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 24 + Child Development Units, Preschool Teaching Permit or "Erzieher/In Ausbildung"
  • Bi-lingual German/ English

Head of School
Responsibilities
Direct pedagogical, personnel, administrative and budgetary operation of international school. Specific duties include: development and supervision of academic and extra-curricular programs; recruiting and supervising teaching and administrative staff; advising the Board of Directors on issues of school policy; developing and managing school budget; overseeing promotion of the school, and development of promotional materials; overseeing interviewing and admission of students; implementing and developing International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program; collaborating with German Government and other international bodies and organization; developing school facilities and ensuring compliance with local norms; and ensuring accreditation of the school with Western Association of Schools.

Education
Master's of Education in International Education or closely related field (or equivalent)

Experience
At least 5 years of experience in the job offered (Director of an International school).

Other requirements
Experience must include:
  • Leading a school with a bilingual education program
  • Implementing and running the International Baccalaureate Program
  • Having led a school through a school-wide accreditation process.
